"I'm too stupid to remember three words at a time, but I'm a Planning Commissioner"

Saw a post about the last Planning Commission meeting, so I watched a little bit of it. The really sad part starts about five minutes into the meeting. I'm not sure if this will take you straight to the video archive:

Planning Commission meeting, June 20

If that doesn't work, go to www.cityofrosemead.org then click on "Video Vault," then the big Planning Commission link near the middle of the page. Then click on the little "Video" link next to the June 20 meeting.

Then use your cursor to drag the little round time thing over until the video player reads 5:00, and watch and learn.

It's really a dramatic illustration of how little merit matters and far being Maggie Clark's friend will get you. Joan Hunter literally can not remember three words in a row, from someone standing right in front of her, who speaks perfect, standard English.

Now, if she can't understand what someone standing right in front of her is saying, and if she can't read a piece of paper right in front of her eyes, one might wonder how she can read the long Planning Commission reports and listen to the staff, applicant, and public comments at the meetings.

Or, one might NOT wonder this, and finally understand why she and so many of her colleagues on the Planning Commission ask so few questions during the meetings.

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"?

That planning commissioner

That planning commissioner and the people who put her on the planning commission should also be ashamed of themselves. No excuse for such a pathetic display.

Sometimes, you just have to

Sometimes, you just have to say, "WTF!"
