Household Hazardous Waste Day

Saturday March 17, 2007, from 9am - 3pm, at the Southern California Edison parking lot (the lot west of Walnut Grove), it's Household Hazardous and E-Waste Round Up Day.

What they'll accept:  brake fluid, paint, paint thinner, cleaners with acid or lye, pesticides, herbicides, household and car batteries, pool chemicals, motor oil, oil filters, expired pharmaceuticals, anti-freeze, flourescent light bulbs, computer monitors, televisions, computer cpu's, keyboards printers, cellular phones, etc.

These are all things you do NOT want to dispose with your regular trash on trash day because they contain hazardous or toxic chemicals that will, if improperly disposed of, eventually get into the groundwater that most of we southern Californians rely on for our daily needs.

So, next Saturday--Clean Up Our City/Clear Out Your Garage, and do it the environmentally safe way.  Empty your car trunk, then place each type of waste in a separate, clearly-marked box, and drive on down to SCE's parking lot.  They'll take the stuff right out of your trunk.  They don't/won't even want you to get out of your car.
