Snow Job on Rosemead's Budget

When is the Tribune going to get beyond just taking things coming out of Rosemead's city council at face value?

Questions the Tribune should be asking:

1. Drop in revenue? Didn't Maggie Clark just tell us in the State of the City address that Wal-Mart was going to save Rosemead from facing a drop in revenue versus the folks in El Monte? What happened?

2. Why is there a claim of no reduction in services when they're talking about canceling Oktoberfest and won't have the money for other similar street fairs?

3. If the claim is that they will save the city money by negotiate new contracts with private service providers, then why did the council just vote to give Wildan a non-competitive extension?
