Rosemead is no longer "Where City Pride is Justified"

New mixed use development in Monrovia keeps raising the bar for their Old Town. More upscale residents and more upscale retail means lots of additional tax revenue for that city.

Meanwhile, in Rosemead, we remain mired in the past. The Auto Auction, Barr Lumber and Temple City at Valley are still just sitting there, generating no tax revenue and attracting no new investment, creating no new jobs, and bringing no new residents with disposible income to help support other businesses in the city.

I think even our city council must recognize our city is failing, since they have given up on our old city slogan: "Where City Pride is Justified." I don't remember the new slogan, but I think it's something like, "Where urban poverty resides in small town America."
