ROSEMEAD - The Rosemead Youth Association received a well-needed financial boost last night when the City Council awarded it $15,000, as well as free attorney services.

The association, which is a sports organization to nearly 350 children, was left with only $700 in its account after the IRS hit it with a tax levy. The projected operating budget for the 2008-08 season is $126,000.

The past board failed do keep up with their accounting, as well as file with the IRS for the past few years. The attorney services will be used to investigate the poor book keeping, and find out who is responsible for it.
