A sign of things to come

There must be state or federal dollars available to replace street signs, because I've noticed new signs in several area cities.

Compare the new San Gabriel signs with the new Rosemead signs:

San Bernardino Fwy Ramp Closures

Wondering why these signs are popping up all over the valley? They're being placed in advance of a major Caltrans construction project along the San Bernardino Freeway (I-10), between the 710 and 605 freeways. Eastbound ramp closures:

Superfund to the Rescue. Eventually

The EPA reported yesterday that it had reached an agreement with twelve companies that contributed hazardous waste to the Operating Industries, Inc. (OII) landfill in Monterey Park/Montebello.

All the news that's fit to print. Incorrectly.

Hey, if all you need to do to get your house turned into a museum is to join a few clubs and then run for city council and lose, I've got a few more suggestions for homes that Rosemead taxpayers can spend $700,000 to turn into a museum!

No dice?

The SGV Tribune is reporting an upcoming "probable cause" checkpoint in West Covina. Cars with visible violations, including windows that are tinted too dark or dice hanging from the rear view mirror will be stopped, and checked for other violations. So, remember: If you're heading into West Covina, leave your dice at home!
