The Yahoo news page has a story about the cheering and "YEAHS!" hollered in response to a hypothetical question asked at the "Tea Party" Republican Presidential debate, asking if an uninsured person who fell into a coma should be treated or forced to die.

Saw on the L.A. Times website that Chick-fil-a is offering a free breakfast this week. Read the article, then probably find their website and read up on where they might be. I don't know of any immediately adjacent to Rosemead.

Story in today's Tribune about the maneuvering to win the right to represent the west San Gabriel Valley in the state assembly. Friends old and new are mentioned getting into and getting out of this race, even though the filing period doesn't open until February. For now, it's the "money primary."

The filing deadline has ended, and some familiar names are running for elected office. In the Garvey School District, incuments Henry Lo and Janet Chin are running for reelections. They are being challenged by Jason Otis and John Nuñez.

In the Rosemead School District, incuments Randy Cantrell and Ron Esquivel are running for reelection, and are being challenged by Qui Nguyen.

Ron Calderon Announces for South Valley District

Assemblyman Ron Calderon, from a family that has occupied elected offices from around Montebello for seemingly ever, announced he's running for Congress in a new, south San Gabriel Valley district that would include Montebello, Whittier, Pico Rivera, Norwalk, Cerritos, Hawaiian Gardens, La Mirada, and Bellflower.
