History of Asians in the San Gabriel Valley

Susie Ling wrote a great article about the long history of Asians in the SGV. The picture above is the San Gabriel Japanese School in Rosemead. At the time, Japanese were still segregated from white society (as were Mexicans) and worked in agriculture.

(It gets kind of sappy at the end.)
