Traffic Commission 01/15 7:00PM

In order to bring the City into compliance with Federal Highway Administration reflectivity standards, staff is looking to replace street signs in the city. To that end, a basic design template has been developed for the new signs. Some of you may have noticed an initial design that is in place at various locations around the city. It looks essentially like the old one, except that there is a thin green line around the edges, and both it and the street name are highly reflective ("retro-reflective") at night when light hits the sign. It is my understanding that the basic design is that, and will remain unchanged, but staff has prepared various color schemes for the commission's consideration. If this is of interest to you, we welcome your input; our decision will be forwarded to City Council for consideration and implementation shortly thereafter.

Also, this is the only item on the agenda, so if you have issues you would like to bring to the commission's attention, Thursday would be an excellent time to do so. I look forward to seeing you there.

(Our next meeting date is not noted on the agenda, but should be February 5th.)
