City Meetings -- Tuesday, August 14

The schedule for city meetings next Tuesday (August 14) has been finalized. You can link to the various announcements and agendas here.

At 4:30 p.m., the Community Development Commission begins its public interviews of candidates for the city’s redevelopment attorney. At 5:30 p.m., the CDC meets to make its selection (if any) of a new CDC counsel.

Also on the agenda for the 5:30 p.m. meeting is whether or not to extend the exclusive negotiating agreement it has with Manarino Realty for developing the property at the corner of Valley and Temple City. According to the agenda, the proposal from Manarino would require a "multi-million dollar subsidy."

At 6:30 p.m., the city council meeting is scheduled to begin. Doesn’t look to me like there’s anything in public session that should be controversial, but you never know. Take a look at the agenda and decide for yourself.

In closed session, the city council will evaluate the performance of the city attorney. A story in yesterday’s San Gabriel Valley Tribune called into question the legal fees charged by the city attorney Bonafacio Garcia’s law firm.
