Full-time benefits for Part-time work

The only local city mentioned in this editorial is Monterey Park, but the bit on health and retirement benefits is true for pretty much all the local cities. These politicians talk about their sacrifice (Maggie Clark claims she's "donating" her time--LOL!), but once you add in those benefits, they are getting full-time pay for part-time work. In fact, they're doing better than that, since most full-time workers elsewhere still need to pay a portion of their health insurance premiums. What a scam!

Overpaid

I wouldn't mind paying them full-time wages if I thought they were worth it. But many are so completely unqualified for any kind of responsible work that they're not even worth part-time wages, never mind full-time benefits.
