Here's his latest ad. Not sure if that's what's helping him move up, or it's the one's that point out what a liar his opponent is. Or maybe it's just her bad policies?

Nice to see he's also been able to remind folks some of the things that DID happen during his tenure.

However, I'm not so sure about the part about moving power down to the local level. I don't think there's enough media attention to allow for accountability at the local level. It took years to catch Bell. But what about Maywood, Vernon, etc.? Or Rosemead, for that matter? Millions of city dollars being diverted from the community redevelopment fund to benefit a few of their supporters? That's a total waste, and our useless local paper isn't about to blow the whistle on their friends, either.

Either way, at least as of today, it looks like his rope-a-dope strategy is paying off. Over the past few weeks, he's been able to match Whitman almost ad for ad, and he's managed to move the needle on those public opinion surveys.
