Nice story in the Mid Valley News about the Rosemead Youth Leadership Center, which (among other things) provides an afterschool alternative for students in the Garvey School District.

Some amazing kids come out of the Leadership Center. A year or so ago, the kids gave Rosemead (say that again?) GAVE Rosemead a check for several hundred dollars to help with their budget issues.

It's just incredible (and possibly a little sad for the city!) that a youth group would be helping a city, instead of the other way around.
