No details reported, other than the stabbing of two women, one fatally, in unincorporated San Gabriel (just north of Rosemead) early this morning.

Good job of serious investigative reporting by the Los Angeles Times has produced a chart showing health care costs imposed on taxpayers by elected officials. Their findings show that Rosemead city council members have the most generous health benefits of any of our neighboring cities:

When I drove home yesterday afternoon, I noticed a Sheriff's Department helicopter, circling. Today, I found out what it was: Observant neighbors in the 8500 block of Olney saw someone going into the backyard of a neighbor's house and called the Sheriff's Department.

The only local city mentioned in this editorial is Monterey Park, but the bit on health and retirement benefits is true for pretty much all the local cities.

San Gabriel wants to ticket you!

Visited the Tribune website today and noticed a warning about San Gabriel's ticketing party scheduled for Wednesday morning. From 7am until noon on May 9, the SGPD will be using decoys in the vicinity of San Gabriel Blvd and Live Oak to entrap drivers who fail to yield for a supposed pedestrian.

You have been warned.

Robberies in the San Gabriel Valley

This story has been getting quite a bit of coverage in the local media. Apparently, there's a team of robbers targeting women who return home late at night. Victims have lived in Alhambra, Monterey Park, San Gabriel and South Pasadena. Obviously, they could also hit neighboring cities.
