Creating Content

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you other users are also able to start your own threads.  You're not limited to just commenting on existing threads.  I write this because we have some active commenters who have never started a new thread.  If you post a comment to an old thread, few will be able to find your comments (They'll be buried on a back page somewhere, with all the other old posts).  If you start a new thread, it'll either show up on the front page by itself or it can be moved there by an administrator.

Can speed limits in Rosemead be enforced?

Interesting article about speed limits in Pasadena. You gotta figure the same state laws affecting them must affect us.

Rosemead Wal-Mart in the News (Sort of)

There doesn’t seem to be much of a point to this story. But security guys hauling someone outside the door because he was asking people if they thought shopping at Wal-Mart made their lives better? For some reason, that’s funny.

Have you seen your city manager today?

Hey, it could be worse. Our city manager could be lost in the wilderness. Literally.

Still more from last night's city council meeting

Must have been a doozy, because in addition to the events detailed in posts below, the SGV Tribune has two articles posted to their website.  One is on the capping of city attorney fees. The other is on the selection of a new engineering management firm.

"Taylor Seeks Details in Lawsuit"

That's the title of the article:  http://www.sgvtribune.com/news/ci_6702725

But it would be more accurate to say, "Taylor Seeks to Publicize Allegations in Lawsuit."  He's already been presented with an oral report, so he knows the details.  The only reason to want a written report is so that you can circulate it among your friends.

Frank Girardot, who very briefly had the Rosemead beat, writes a blog for the SGVN group:

He has both "off the record" information and links to regular crime-related stories from the SGVN papers there.
