LA Times Crime Tracker

The Los Angeles Times has been compiling LAPD and LA County Sheriff reports into an interactive map feature. It's not perfect, but it will give you an idea of what's going on in the city.

On the map, you can drag a time-line that makes little bubbles pop up for each crime during a several day period. What's funny (to me) is dragging the timeline across the days, and watching how persistent the little bubbles appearing around 1800 Walnut Grove Avenue are. Most are thefts, so I expect they're mostly shoplifters getting busted at Wal-Mart. However, there are a few robberies and thefts from automobiles popping up in the 1800 block of Walnut Grove, or the 8600 block of Rush. That's either shoppers or Edison workers getting their cars stolen or broken into.
