Deputy Dog David Perea, The Mayor of Charlotte Avenue

David Perea, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 14.  He turned 68 that very day.

Our condolances and prayers are with his family.

We'll miss you, Dave.

Funeral arrangements have been made.  I've posted a message from Barbara Murphy that includes that information in the "comment" section below.

Your Legacy Will Live On!

David Perea was as good as it gets.  He was a caring and an unselfish individual who dedicated his life to helping others.  He was someone you can always count on and someone you can always talk to.  He was a motivator and a guiding light.  An individual that always put others ahead of himself.  He was a blessing in disguise.  He was not only my friend but a mentor.  He was my family.

David Perea may you rest in peace.  You've touched many lives and you will be missed but never forgotten.  You have left behind a beautiful wife in Mary Ellen, family, friends and a legacy filled with joy and memories.

In loving memory,

John Tran

Funeral Arrangements

To all SOC Members, Friends, and Supporters:
By now, I expect everyone has heard the very sad news that our dear friend, David Perea, passed away this past Tuesday, February 14th of a massive heart attack.  February 14th was also David's 68th birthday.  We all know how hard David worked in our fight for justice in Rosemead.  In many ways, he was our backbone, our heart and our soul.  David fought this fight from the very beginning, and never wavered in his determination and hope that we would win our battle against Wal-Mart.
At the February 15, 2006 meeting of SOC those present decided that, in lieu of flowers, we would pool our resources to help defray the costs of David's burial expenses.  Larry Bevington has volunteered to collect our donations along with your signatures and thoughts on a sympathy card from David's SOC family to Mary Ellen, their children, grandchildren, and extended family.  Larry can be reached at (626) 572-9428.  If you made your donation at the 2/15/06 meeting, please be sure to sign the card at Larry's house.
David's services will be held at Rose Hills.  Viewing will be this Tuesday the 21st from
6-8PM at the Sky Rose Chapel (Gate #1 entrance). Burial services will follow on Wednesday
the 22nd, also at the Sky Rose Chapel at 11:00 AM. For more information and map directions, visit www.rosehills.com, click on the link for "Scheduled Services," and type "Perea" into the search box.
On behalf of Mary Ellen and the Family, I want to thank all of you who have dropped in to
to express your condolences.  Their door is always open.
                                             Sincerely,  Barbara Murphy
