Help the 710!

Coming up this week is a series of three Open Houses held by Metro and CalTrans to present the five options planned for study in the Environmental Impact Report on the alternatives for the "710 gap," our long-incomplete freeway. Click here to find out more about how they arrived at the options: http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist07/resources/envdocs/docs/710study/

The Executive Summary and Alternatives Analysis Report provide good overviews of the process, and there is plenty of supplemental information for whatever in the core documents piques your interest. But the key is the open houses. They are being held to provide more information to the public, and to allow for more feedback. If you want to see the freeway completed, please try to attend one of them and let your feelings be known. Public outreach is an important part of the process, and will be used to support (and if necessary, defend) the decision made.
