Lungs and Pollution (for the premed student from Cal State LA)

At that big meeting, an insulting guy who called us "stupid" claimed that you'd have to suck an exhaust pipe to suffer respiratory damage. I've never heard of anything so stupid.

A recent study by UCLA said that people who live near traffic suffer more from respiratory problems.

Now this new study from USC shows that pollution causes a reduction in lung size.

Everyone old enough to know a lot of people notices that people from dense urban areas have more respiratory problems than people from the country or by the beach. These studies just confirm our lived experience.

Pollution matters.

And now, pollution will matter for the kids at Rice, Sanchez, and Temple, the people along Rush, and even more than before for people along Walnut Grove (which is already very polluted).
