Crazy Number of Foot Massage Places on Valley Blvd

I don't see how a place can stay in business charging $10 for a one hour massage.  And I don't see how there can be about 25 or 30 of those businesses on just the 2 1/2 miles or so of Valley Blvd in San Gabriel.  But, apparently, people come from all over the Southland for these cheap massages.  It's so cheap, they're willing to pay for the gas to get out here.  But surely this bubble will have to burst eventually?

Maybe they massage other things too. Upsell.

And, yes, the article did say that some places offer body massages, too.

Between 9 and 10 pm, I walked down Valley from New (returning from Peach House).  The many foot massage places were all packed, as were most of the restaurants along the way.  Doesn't anybody cook at home, anymore? :D
