Big Rally This Saturday!

This Saturday, February 25th, we will be hosting a big rally at Rice Elementary School starting at 10:00 AM.  Rice is on the corner of Angelus and Rush, directly across from the Wal-Mart construction site, and stands to be very negatively impacted if the Supercenter opens.  So this Saturday, we're getting everyone out to protest - with our voices, signs and skits - all the bad things Wal-Mart brings, especially when it locates in communities such as this one.  We're going to have a few speakers starting at 10, then we'll be marching around the area and doing skits (with clowns for the kids), followed by food & drinks and free prize drawings (for kids and adults).  While everyone's eating, we'll have some short speeches by our local representatives, including Congresswoman Hilda Solis, State Senator Gloria Romero, Assemblywoman Judy Chu, City Council members John Tran and John Nunez and Garvey School Board President Henry Lo.

Afterwards, for those who can, we will be marching up to Beach's Market to show our support for this prominent - and local - business and its continued service to our community.

The media should be there too, so please come, bring your friends and family, and help us spread the word.  This is going to be BIG!
