Tran calls for Rosemead PD study, Whittier Daily News, 03/25/05

"A closed-session motion by Tran to hire independent counsel to examine the environmental impact report submitted by Wal-Mart was blocked by Clark, Imperial and Taylor. The report will be challenged in court by Wal-Mart opponents on April 6.

And Tran added an item to the April 12 council agenda that could put a moratorium on Wal-Mart's 24-acre development on Walnut Grove Avenue and Rush Street. Imperial, Taylor and Clark would likely vote against any moratorium."

Tran was elected to stop Wal-Mart, not to build an unnecessary police department.
