Congresswoman Judy Chu is holding a meet and greet and district office grand opening on Friday, December 18, 6-8pm. The new district office is located at 4401 Santa Anita Ave., Suite 201 in El Monte, 91731.

This is in the same building (near the El Monte airport) where Rep. Hilda Solis had her district office, but it's in a different suite.

El Monte Union High School District's Board of Trustees meets on Wednesday, December 9 at 5pm at South El Monte High School to swear in its new members. Among the new members is former Rosemead Mayor John Tran.

California State Controller John Chiang will be in town to do the honors.

Unsuccessful congressional candidate Gil Cedillo is still looking for his next job. In the short term, it looks like he's willing to settle for a "demotion," to the state assembly.
