The new Rosemead City Manager will be starting with a salary of $175,000/year, which is several thousand dollars more than the previous permanent city manager started out at.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting the long-time Republican U.S. Senator Arlen Spector is leaving the Republican Party to join the D's. That gives the D's 59 seats, plus the probably pick-up of the Minnesota seat by Franken.
